The venue is only a 10 min walk from the Nördlingen railway station. The lecture room is equipped with a PowerPoint projector and audio equipment. If lecturers need some other technical devices, they should contact the organisers in good time. The venue of the poster session will be announced in due course.

 

Meals

Breakfasts will be at the accommodation sites of the participants. Lunches will be at Hotel Klösterle and dinners will be at the JUFA Hotel, if not announced separately in the programme. During excursions packed lunches and lunches outside Nördlimgen can be scheduled. The farewell dinner will be held at Hotel Klösterle.

Accommodation

Participants will have the choice between accommodation in single rooms at the Hotel Klösterle (en-suite bathrooms), The double and quadruple rooms at JUFA Hotel have en-suite bathrooms and separate WCs, Quadruple rooms have 4 beds distributed to 2 levels.

The rooms at Hotel Klösterle have en-suite bathrooms with WC and shower or bath tub, comfortable sitting areas and are decorated in contemporary style, using natural colors and dark wooden furniture. They are equipped with TV and Minibar. All places offer free wireless internet.

Lecturers will be offered single room accommodation in Hotel Klösterle.

Access to the Venue

The best way is first to fly into Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC) airport. Frankfurt has more air connections, but Munich is closer to the venue.

From Frankfurt airport railway station you can train to Stuttgart and from there the regional train to Aalen and another one from there to Nördllingen. Total train travel time is around 3h 20 minutes.

From Munich Airport (München Flughafen) you can take the suburban train to München-Pasing or Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof (Hbf)) and from there to Nördlingen with usually changes in Augsburg and/or Donauwörth.  

An excellent website for travel enquiries is available at the Germain railway website, in 8 different languages. You can also buy tickers at this site, as at  vending machines on railway stations. Please note that you cannot buy tickets from conductors and boarding trains without a valid ticket is regarded as fare-dodging and leads to hefty fines.  

If you plan to travel to the venue by way of your own car, please note there is no parking at the Klösterle Hotel. You will have to use the subterranean garage (EUR 8,- for 24 hours) or the free parking lot at “Kaiserwiese” outside the city wall.

 For JUFA, there is a nearby parking lot.

The main organiser of the event will be the European Astrobiology Institute will be Dr. Wolf Geppert from Stockholm University. For scientific questions he will serve as the main contact person.
