Application

PLEASE NOTE: The application deadline for the summer school has been prolonged to 30 June 2023. Application for BURSARIES are alao still welcome! Both students and scientists are welcome !

If you want to apply for the summer course, please fill in the application form (can be downloaded with he button below) including the following:

• the completed first  page of the form
• a curriculum vitae
• a short motivation letter (why you want to attend the course)
• a list of your publications

Please send the application form by e-mail to Wolf Geppert (wgeppert@fysik.su.se). In the cover page you are asked to give two scientists as reference. Please do not send any reference letters, we will contact them if we need to. If you already have a curriculum vitae and a publication list, in a .doc or .pdf format, you can also attach them as seperate files to e-mail.

A limited number of bursaries will be available covering meals and accommodation in 4 bedded rooms is also available for students and early career scientists from EAI institutions (see a list here). You are eligible for ta bursary if you are one of the following:

• a Masters or Ph. D. student from an EAI institution (see a list here) in a subject relevant to astrobiology (chemistry, astronomy, physics, geology, biology, epistemology etc.)
• a researcher rom an EAI institution (see a list here) in a field related to astrobiology and your first Ph. D. in such a field is less than 8 years before the application deadline.

Participants from EAI institutions selected by the EAI for bursaries will be offered free meals and accommodation in a shared 4-bedded room for 4 at JUFA Hotel from 4  September (dinner) until 15 September 2023  (breakfast), but have to fund their travel on their own. There is no special application for the bursaries, just send in your application form and tell us in the e-mail that you want to apply for a bursary. Participants selected for the bursaries will be notified in end June, early July (in good time before the registration deadline). Please see the Application page  for details about the application.

The organisers will then select the participants that will be invited to participate the school. Applicants will be informed about the outcome of the selection in the second half of June or early July.
