Access

By Air

The nearest airport is Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (IATA Code: BLQ), which offers connections to many European hubs, including flights by low-cost carriers. Use search engines like Skyscanner or Momondo for affordable flights.

A shuttle service will be provided on 24 February from Bologna Airport and Bologna Main Railway Station to Bertinoro, with a return on 7 March. If traveling independently:

  1. From Bologna, take the airport shuttle to Bologna Railway Station.
  2. Take a train to Forli (for train connections, check Trenitalia or Bahn).

From Forli station, you can take a bus (details below).

From Forli Station to Bertinoro by Local Bus

Exit Forli Station from the main (southern) entrance. Walk 300m along Via della Libertá to the “Galileo” station, where you can:

  • Take Bus 134 (direction “Polenta”) directly to Bertinoro.
  • Or take Bus 92 (direction “Cesena Punto Bus”) to “Forlimpopoli Chiesa” and transfer to Bus 121 (direction “Piazza de Libertá”).

In either case, exit at “Bertinoro Via de Soccorso,” located near the venue.

By Train

The organized shuttle service on 24 February from Bologna Airport and Bologna Main Railway Station to Bertinoro will return on 7 March. If traveling independently, take the train to Forli (details available on Trenitalia or Bahn).

By Long-Distance Bus

Several bus companies, such as Flixbus, operate long-distance buses to Bologna Autostazione. From there, walk 300m west along the main road to Bologna Centrale to catch a train to Forli. Buses also run to Forli Station but are generally slower.

Important Notes:

  • Purchase train tickets online at Trenitalia or at vending machines.
  • Avoid “helpers” who may request tips.
  • Be cautious of individuals seeking “information” as it may be a distraction tactic.
  • Local buses (Forli-Bertinoro) accept credit card payments.
  • Local train tickets often require validation at yellow machines at stations; failing to do so may incur fines.
