Getting to Liblice

Many airlines offer flight to and from Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport. From there we recommend to use the Shuttle bus offered by the hotel in the evening. If you want to take a taxi we strongly  recomment that you book from the taxi booking booths at Terminals 1 and 2 Arrival Halls or via Uber, which is the official taxi provider of the Prague airport.  There are vending machines for the taxi rides in the arrival hall,. Also pre-booking taxis via the internet  is an option – the Uber link can be found here. A taxi ride costs around EUR 50,-

Ignore people running around offering "cheap" taxi rides in the arrival hall - such trips will cost you dear. You are sue to be cheated and, in case of bad luch, even mugged,

It is possible but a bit difficult to go to Liblice Castle by public transport (see below).

A bus transfer to Liblice will be organised on April 14th 18:15 from Prague Vaclav Havel Airport. The bus stops at the PB EXPRESS Parking lot.

The bus will stop at Prague Main Station at around 18:45 to pick up people. The bus stop is at the new building of the main railway station, on the right-hand side in the direction of Wenceslas Square at Hlavní nádraží metro station (red metro line C). The name of the bus company is V. Petřik but it might not be written on it. '

For late arrivers on 14th April we will have a taxi transfer. Please send me your arrival time as soon as possible if you have not yet done so.

By own car

For navigating to Liblice, you can use: https://maps.app.goo.gl/BrmxKKRAwTVnaJTKA. There are parking lots to the east of the castle. They are not guarded, however.

Railway connections to Prague are good. Please be aware that the Golden City has three main railway stations, the main station (Hlavní nádraží), the Holešovice and the Masaryk Station. It is wise to check at which station your train arrives to avoid surprises. From all stations we recommend  to use the Shuttle bus offered by the hotel. If you want to take public transport from one of the stations please see below.

For timetables and connections we recommend to check the excellent website of the German Railways (available in 8 languages, including Czech).

Several companies run long-distance buses to Prague. They can be a cheap alternative. The main bus stop in Prague is close to  Prague main train station on Wilsonova street. You can check the usual providers (Flixbus etc.)

By public transport from Prague

First you have to go to "Ladví" underground station. This is no problem from anywhere in Prague due to the wide network of the Prague public transport.

From Prague Vacláv Havel International Airport take bus 119 (from the terminal) to the station "Nádraží Veleslavín" From there take the green underground line (direction "Depo Hostivar") to the station "Muzeum". There change to the red underground  line (direction "Letnany" or "Ladví") to "Ladví) Station.

From the main station (Hlavní nádraží) and  the Holešovice red underground  line (direction "Letnany" or "Ladví") to "Ladví) Station. From Masaryk Station take the yellow underground line to "Florenc" (direction "Černý Most"). There change to the red underground  line (direction "Letnany" or "Ladví") to "Ladví) Station.

Arriving at Ladvi Station walk out and take the passenger tunnel to the other side of a big street (buses to Mělník should be signposted). From the bus station on hi street take bus 369 to Mělník bus station. At Mělník bus station you have to take bus 467 (preferably) or 747 to Liblice. Exit from the bus station go 50 metres back and turn left after a run-down restaurant. After 100m turn right again, you will see the castle soon (you are passing the castle with the bus on the way in)

Timetables can be found on the Prague integrated transport website. Tickets can be bought from the bus driver and at vending machines, but there is also a booth of the Prague Integrated Transport at the arrival hall of Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport. Fare-dodging is DEFINITELY NOT recommended. Controls are frequent and being caught without a valid ticket leads to hefty fines in which a mouthful of abuse by the control agent is often complementarily included.

Some time to burn in Prague?

There is a luggage storage service at the airport in the departure hall on the upper floor of Terminal 2. Costs around CZK 300 per day.See https://www.prg.aero/en/baggage-storage?terminal=reset&terminal_part=

It opens throughout the day with a lunch break at 11:00 – 12:00 and a dinner break at 19:00 to 20:00.

At Main Railway Station there is a limited number of storage lockers. Commercial storage providers (like Radical Storage) are also found around the station. See https://www.prague-luggagestorage.com/prague-main-station-luggage-storage-guide/ for details.

From the airport there is a good connection downtown. Take bus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín and from there the metro line A (green line) direction Depo Hostivař to Staroměstská for the Old Town (Charles bridge, Jewish quarter), Muzeum for the National Museum or Hradčanska for the castle.

From the railway station take Line C (red line) direction Haje to Muzeum. From there the metro line A (green line) direction "Nemocnine Motol" to "Staroměstska" for the Old Town (Charles bridge, Jewish quarter) or "Hradčanska" for the castle.

Tickets can be bought at the Public transport booth in the arrival hall of the airport or at yellow vending machines.

If you are a bit into nature, you can also go to Šarka nature area. Take the bus 59 to Divoka Šarka (15 min) and walk down north (passing McDonalds) into a nice valley: https://prague-now.com/parks-and-gardens/a-guide-to-divoka-sarka-hikes-views-and-swimming/.

Timetables can be found on the Prague integrated transport website. Tickets can be bought from the bus driver and at vending machines, but there is also a booth of the Prague Integrated Transport at the arrival hall of Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport.
