EAI Online Workshop
The Rare Microbiome, Contamination & Planetary Protection
About the Workshop
Technological advances are now allowing the detection and analysis of very low content DNA samples, revealing an unseen diversity of microbes — sometimes filling gaps in microbial evolution. This workshop explores the "Rare Microbiome" in extreme environments and its relevance to planetary protection, microbial contamination in space missions, and the ethical imperative of safeguarding other worlds.
