Liblice is a Baroque Castle with e very interesting

history (check here for a summary). It is close

to Prague and only a 40 minutes drive from

Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport.

By air

Many airlines offer flight to and from Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport. From there we recommend  to use the Shuttle bus offered by the hotel. It costs max CZK 500,- per person and ride. You can book those with the registration form. If you want to take a taxi we strongly  recomment that you book from the taxi booking booths at Terminals 1 and 2 Arrival Halls. Ignore people running around offering "cheap" taxi rides in the arrival hall - such trips will cost you dear. Also pre-booking taxis via the internet  is an option - some links can be found here.

It is possible but a bit difficult to go to Liblice Castle by public transport (see below).

By train

Railway connections to Prague are good. Please be aware that the Golden City has three main railway stations, the main station (Hlavní nádraží), the Holešovice and the Masaryk Station. It is wise to check at which station your train arrives to avoid surprises. From all stations we recommend  to use the Shuttle bus offered by the hotel (max CZK 400,- per person and ride). If you want to take public transport from there please see below.

For timetables and connections we recommend to check the excellent website of the German Railways (awailable in 8 languages, including Czech).

By long-distance buses

Several companies run long-distance buses to Prague. They can be a cheap alternative. The main bus stop in Prague is close to  Prague main train station on Wilsonova street.

By own car

Liblice can be easily reached by own car. It is only 20 km off the main road from Prague to Dresden. You can find directions at Google Maps.  Parking places are available at the conference site.

By public transport from Prague

First you have to go to "Ladví" underground station. This is no problem from anywhere in Prague due to the wide network of the Prague public transport.

From Prague Vacláv Havel International Airport take bus 119 (from the terminal) to the station "Nádraží Veleslavín" From there take the green underground line (direction "Depo Hostivar") to the station "Muzeum". There change to the red underground  line (direction "Letnany" or "Ladví") to "Ladví) Station.

From the main station (Hlavní nádraží) and  the Holešovice red underground  line (direction "Letnany" or "Ladví") to "Ladví) Station. From Masaryk Station take the yellow underground line to "Florenc" (direction "Černý Most"). There change to the red underground  line (direction "Letnany" or "Ladví") to "Ladví) Station.

Arriving at Ladvi Station walk out and take the passenger tunnel to the other side of a big street (buses to Mělník should be signposted). From the bus station on hi street take bus 349 to 369 to Mělník bus station. At Mělník bus station you have to take bus 467 to Liblice. Exit from the bus station

Tometables can be found on the Prague integrated transport website. Tickets can be bough from the bus driver and at vending machines, but there is also a booth of the Prague Integrated Transport at the arrival hall of Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport. Fare-dodging is DEFINITELY NOT recommended. Controls are frequent and being caught without a valid ticket leads to hefty fines in which a mouthful of abuse by the control agent is often complementarily included.

There are more upmarket rooms at the main castle and nice somewhat cheaper rooms at the Annex. Rooms are equipped with an-suite facilties, fridge, minibar,TV-LCD, safe, hair dryer and Internet connection. In all conference arrangements meals (breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks and dinners) between dinner on May 27th and breakfast at May 31st are included. See the Registration webpage for  details.

Please note: Early booking  is strongly recommended.  Rooms at the Castle are limited in number.  In case of need, extra rooms at hotels in Mělník and shuttle buses between the hotels and conference site are available. However, this might be a more expensive alternative.

Meals (breakfast, lunches and dinners) are served at the Restaurant. Coffee breaks will take place close to te lecture hall. Please inform the organisers (via the registration form) if you have some dietary requirements. Please note that (apart from a temporarily manned sausage stall at Liblice bus station) no catering is avalable in Liblice outside the castle.

Lecture theatre

The lecture theatre at Llblice Castle is equipped with PowerPoint display, sound equipment and electronic voting system. Please inform the organisers in good time if you are a speaker and need some further equipment.
